Welcome to the new home of The Huddersfield Pink Picnic.
Plans are well underway for the 24th Huddersfield Picnic which this year will be on Sunday 25th July. This years event promises to be bigger and better than ever as The Pink Picnic will be relocating to a new site with better access to allow the event to grow. The new site will be Moor End Farm, South Crosland, Huddersfield. HD4 7BZ which is already home to The Huddstock Music Festival so it’s no stranger to massive crowds of party people.
So why after 24 years is it time for a change of venue? Castle Hill has only been home to The Pink Picnic since 1998 so it is not the first time the event has moved. The Pink Picnic originally started it’s life in 1986 as literally just a picnic on the moors overlooking the scenic reservoir “Binn Wood”, between Greenfield and Holmfirth organised by a small group of friends. By 1997 the event was attracting 1000’s of people and a new home was needed so in 1998 Castle Hill, Huddersfield’s most prominent land mark became it’s new home. The event has continued to grow and has now out grown it’s current home attracting over 5000 people each year.
There is no doubt that Castle Hill is a beautiful location and has been a great host for many fantastic years but due to the narrow country roads leading up to the site it has access limitations and makes providing some of the infrastructure required for the event difficult and in some cases impossible. One thing that people always ask for every year and has so far been impossible to provide due to the restricted access is Fun Fair rides for grown ups as well as the children’s rides. The new site at Moor End Farm will allow us to provide Fun Fair rides together with improved access links for visitors on the day with better parking facilities.

We can already confirm that the Greyhound Pub will once again be supporting The Pink Picnic and The Infamous MarkyMark will be returning for a fourth year to host the proceedings on the main stage.
